Partner Organization: CNote

Description: The SENSA Co-op is a rigorous program that allows students to utilize their analytical skills on real social sector problems, and create products that are actually implemented by a social E organization. This year’s partner organization, CNote, creates financial products that invest in underserved communities, and offers competitive returns for all who invest with them.

Role: Analyst

Project 1: Racial Equity in Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) Funding

The Community Development Financial Institution Fund provides resources and programs for mission-driven organizations to generate growth in socially and economically distressed communities. As an analyst on this project, you will research the funding landscape of the CDFI Fund and formulate a plan for CNote to tailor their product in order to equalize funding from the CDFI for communities and people of color.

What we’re looking for:

  • Passionate about social impact

  • Able to commit 10 hrs/week

  • Strong writing and communication skills

  • Plus: data analytics, research experience


Project 2: Product Development of Socially Responsible Financial Tools

CNote currently offers a saving investment vehicle at a competitive return of 2.5%. As an analyst on on this project, you will research traditional investment and banking levers and tools and develop products that adapt these tools for both financial and social return. This project focuses on product development, financial analysis and user research to pitch new products for CNote to adopt into its offerings.

  • Plus: Strong analytical skills in either data science, finance, or research
